Which insurances do you take?
We are in-network with Cigna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield PPO, Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford, Oscar Health, Quest Behavioral Health, and Carelon Behavioral Health.
What if you don’t take my insurance?
You can pay the out-of-pocket rate and opt to submit an invoice to your insurance to see what they will reimburse you for out-of-network mental health services (typically 50%-80%). Your therapist is happy to provide you with monthly invoices or superbills for this process. If you do not have insurance and are interested in a sliding scale, please contact your therapist to discuss your options.
What is your out-of-pocket rate?
The first two sessions are $175. These two sessions are known as the diagnostic interview where we gather background information and formulate your treatment plan. The remaining sessions are $150 each. We will provide a Good Faith Estimate at the beginning of services and each calendar year thereafter, giving your estimated total cost for therapy services in the year.
Do you offer in-person visits?
We do not. We conduct therapy sessions through a secure virtual platform, and your therapist will send you a unique link prior to your first session.
How do I start the process?

How do virtual appointments work?
New client intake paperwork and assessments are sent through Simple Practice, a secure, HIPAA compliant online portal. Your therapist will send you a unique, HIPAA compliant link for your session before your scheduled appointment. You can expect your first appointment to review intake paperwork and assessment results, and for your therapist to get to know your history and your current goals.
If I live in Illinois or Oregon can I book an appointment?
At this time, all therapists are licensed to see clients in Illinois, and Lauren is able to see clients in both Oregon and Illinois. It’s important to note that you must be in your home state during our sessions.
Is there a fee for cancellations?
Missed appointments or appointments canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled time are charged a $100 fee. Please reach out via email or phone if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Do you offer supervision for pre-licensed social workers?
If you are a pre-licensed social worker who is seeking hours for their LCSW, we offer supervision while completing your required hours through group or individual meetings. Contact us for pricing and more information at hello@almapyschotherapy.com.
